Football Players With Acl Injuries. Theo Walcott is one of the football player that suffer from ACL injury. Not only Theo Walcott, Kurt Zouma, Callum Wilson, Tyrone Mings, Max Gradel, Tim Krul, Joe Gomez, Danny Ings, Carl Jenkinson, and Jordan Amavi. They are all Premier League that suffer because ACL injury.
What make ACL is so scary?
ACL reconstructions need half a year to get a full recovery. However, Paul Gascoigne was out of the game for 16 months after rupturing his ACL in the 1991 FA Cup final. I will describe standart ACL therapy for football player.
- Phase one (0-2 weeks after surgery). The knee will be swollen, and it is normal because it is the effect from the surgery.
- Phase two (2-6 weeks after surgery). The swelling gone smoothly and rehabilitation start. In this stage football player can walk, but not for run.
- Phase three (6-12 weeks after surgery). The knee is already stronger than befor and player can go swimming and use a bike.
- Phase three (3-6 months). Full range of movement and strength already back, however player will not play in his regular league yet. He must go for specific drills and training to bring back his stamina.
For ACL patient, ACL injuries will make them suffer, not only from the injuries, but also their physic and stamina. Players who suffer ACL injuries typically face a substantial period on the sidelines, they need to regain fitness starts straight away or they will lose it forever.
Bad news is, if ACL injuries can be even worse for the amateur player who is still expected to go to work. They cant work anymore for several weeks and it’s really hurt if they fired from their work.
